One of my new years resolutions for this year is to raise some money for charities that I have had a personal relationship with. And one of those charities is MIND. This is the year of me trying new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone; and what better way to start than by doing something I've never done before! Cycling!
Which brings me to this post. For as long as I can remember, I have made New Years resolutions each year; and EVERY SINGLE ONE has been about how my body looks and my weight. It's always along the lines of: I will lose weight, I will drop a dress size, I will change my body, I will go to the gym 6 times a week, I will stop eating certain foods etc. etc. etc. And this year I REFUSE to make a resolution about my body.
It's #SelfcareWeek ! And it's got me thinking, what do we actually think classes as selfcare? For me, I typically start thinking about face masks and bubble baths. And well yes that can be classed as selfcare; but as amazing as those things are, there are hundreds of other things you can do. And over the last few days, I've been doing a few of these myself.
We all know that feeling when pay day hits; you know, the feeling you get when that little voice in your head says treat yo self! You deserve it! And then you go and buy a load of stuff that you forget about until you're surrounded by loads of mystery packages. Well here’s a load of presents to buy yourself for under £20!
As scary as it was for me to go shopping by myself and face my driving anxiety, the benefits I got from it were so worth it. So this week I'm writing about why I think you should go shopping by yourself for the day, or do anything that you enjoy doing but have never done it on your own because the benefits certainly outweigh the anxiety around it!
I've learnt a load of lessons not only about myself but about how I should see the world; and this is why I'm writing this today. What made me come to this realisation is the fact that I got my haircut, well, I got bangs. Why would getting bangs make me have this big realisation you ask? Well keep reading and you'll find out!
